Terms and Conditions for GitFolders

Welcome to GitFolders, a Chrome extension that helps you organize your GitHub repositories into custom folders. Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the GitFolders extension or related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By installing or using GitFolders, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Overview

GitFolders is a browser extension that allows users to:

• Organize their GitHub repositories into folders
• Sync folders across devices (with an account)
• Use cloud sync and premium features via a paid subscription

2. Eligibility

To use GitFolders, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction)
• Have a GitHub account
• Accept and comply with these Terms

3. Accounts and Authentication

• GitFolders uses Supabase for authentication and secure storage.
• GitHub login is required for syncing features.
• By signing in, you allow GitFolders to access certain public/private repository metadata (not the content itself) necessary for folder organization.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and credentials.

4. Privacy

GitFolders respects your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

In short:

• We do not sell your data.
• We only store what’s necessary to provide our service.
• You can delete your data at any time.

5. Usage Guidelines

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful or abusive purposes
• Reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the extension without permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or user accounts

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

6. Subscription and Payments

• GitFolders is a paid service. All users start with a 10-day free trial, after which a subscription is required to continue using the extension.
• Subscriptions are billed through secure third-party payment processors.
• By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fees.
• Unless otherwise stated, all sales are final. Refunds may be issued only in exceptional cases and at our sole discretion.
• We reserve the right to change pricing or subscription terms at any time, with prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

GitFolders and all associated branding, code, and content are the intellectual property of the GitFolders team. You may not use, copy, or redistribute any part of the Service without written permission.

GitFolders is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub.

8. Limitation of Liability

GitFolders is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Any data loss or corruption
• Service outages or bugs
• Damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via the extension or email. Continued use of GitFolders after changes means you accept the new Terms.
